Year 5 Sapphire

We’ve had a great start to 2026 in Sapphire Class! I asked children to share their hopes for 2026 and their answers were inspiring.

We also finished our science topic of ‘forces’ by experimenting with Newton meters.

Today, Y5 have been looking at South African songs from the Xhosa language. We looked at different ways of arranging the 'call and response' song, 'Shosholosa'. Have a listen to our different arrangements here!

After learning about the Anglo-Saxons shields - it inspired us to try and make our own. We designed them first and looked at patterns and colours and then we created our model shields using card. We were very pleased with the results.

Bewdley Museum

Have a look at our photos from our trip out to day to Bewdley Museum. We were able to showcase our WWII knowledge, learn some new facts, handle artefacts and try out some gas masks.
