The Story Fairy has been to visit us again. Last week she sent us Shark in the Park to read, we loved this story. We made our own telescopes, put our wellies on and went to the forest to hunt for sharks. We had lots of fun lying on our tummies to draw sharks on a huge roll of paper. Lying on the floor to draw strengthens the muscles in our arms, this will help when we start writing in big school next year.
This week our children have been picking fruit and vegetables in the school Community Grow Garden. We picked red and yellow tomatoes, chilli's, lettuce, potatoes and green beans. We also smelt all the herbs, they smelt delicious!
Today we have been conducting a Science investigation to identify which materials are conductors and which are insulators. We then concluded that all metal objects conduct electricity and cardboard, paper and plastic all insulate.
Last week we had a visit from the CO crew. First thing in the morning we had an assembly with Julie and Al to learn about Carbon Monoxide. We realised that you can't hear it, smell it, taste it, touch it or see it! We learnt that you need to have a special detector...
