We have had a brilliant World Book Day. It was lots of fun coming into pre-school in our PJs. We sat under blankets and read bedtime stories that The Story Fairy 🧚‍♀️ had sent us for this special day.

We believe bedtime stories are such an important part of children’s lives, which is why we’ve chosen it as our theme for this year. Nothing beats the feeling of snuggling up together to read just before bed, for both children and adults. Having this time together builds on the bond between you, it also creates a positive association with books even before children learn to read themselves. Using electronic devices at bedtime can stimulate the brain and stop your child falling asleep. Sharing a book together has a calming effect on children’s brains and can help them fall asleep more easily.

The sharing of bedtime stories is also beneficial for parents mental health and well-being. Cuddling up for a story with your child in their bed releases serotonin, also known as the happy hormone. Making you feel better too!
