This morning, year 5 walked to Christ Church as part of our RE lessons. We learnt about different Christian artefacts and parts of the church, such as a lectern, a font, a pulpit an altar, pews and the cross. We looked at the holy bible and different hymns. The children were also lucky enough to receive a cake and a drink from the church members. It was a wonderful trip and we all learnt new facts about Christianity.
Year 5 have had a fantastic day with the Viking man. We have looked at lots of replica tools, weapons and utensils, at the types of clothes they wore, how they lived and how they fought. We then took part in a battle re-enactment with our own shields.
Last week we had a visit from the CO crew. First thing in the morning we had an assembly with Julie and Al to learn about Carbon Monoxide. We realised that you can't hear it, smell it, taste it, touch it or see it! We learnt that you need to have a special detector...
