This week, the Story Fairy sent us a wonderful surprise – Zog by Julia Donaldson. The children have absolutely loved this much‑loved story, full of dragons, friendship and determination. It quickly became a firm favourite at story time, with lots of excitement and chatter about dragons and flying adventures.

Inspired by Zog, our learning took us outdoors where the children went on a magical mission in our forest area. They hunted for golden stars that Zog had left behind, searching high and low with huge enthusiasm. There was lots of excitement as some children were convinced they could see Zog flying overhead – imaginations were truly soaring!

We also enjoyed some creative, nature‑based play by making wildflower bracelets. The children carefully collected flowers and leaves from our planting area and mud kitchen, developing their fine motor skills while talking about colours, shapes and nature around them. The finished bracelets were beautiful and worn with great pride.

It has been a lovely week full of storytelling, outdoor exploration and imaginative play. Activities like these help build confidence, creativity and a love of books – all while having lots of fun together!

We can’t wait to see where the Story Fairy takes us next. ✨🐉
