In Reception this week, we have been sharing the story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. The children have really enjoyed both joining in with the reading of the story and engaging in lots of activities that further develop their understanding of the plot. Whilst outside, we had a go at drawing a map for the giant to follow to reach our classroom, as well as drew some lovely art of the characters from the story. We even challenged ourselves to label our pictures too, by using our Phonics! Our favourite activity was where we explored what a ‘bird’s eye view’ of something is, by using Lego to build our own beanstalk and then looking down on it to see what it looked like from above! ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ has definitely been one of our favourite stories from our time in Reception, so far!
